From Oct. 24–27, Harlem-based Claire Oliver Gallery, which represents the likes of BK Adams, Carolyn Mazloomi, and Barbara Earl Thomas, brought 23 works to the Metro Toronto Convention Center for Art Toronto. The lineup included new and recent works, such as Suyao Tian’s water-based mixed media paintings and textile art from Simone Elizabeth Saunders and Gio Swaby. In a moment of recognition for Swaby, the artist was featured in the fair’s “Focus” exhibition, curated by Rhéanne Chartrand.
